Placenta Encapsulation

Humans have used their placentas in ritualistic ways for thousands of years. The first scientific documentation of placenta consumption dates back to the 1500s in China and is still a practice used worldwide today.

Placenta encapsulation has an array of benefits for the postpartum period such as:

  • Reducing postbirth bleeding quickly

  • Encouraging a quick and healthy milk supply

  • Balancing hormonal peaks and drops

  • Reducing stress levels

  • Preventing the baby blues and postnatal depression

  • Boosting energy to cope with a busy day after little sleep

  • Improving the appearance of skin/hair/nails

  • Helping restore iron levels after blood loss during birth

  • Promotes healing the womb after birth

Sounds great, how does this all work?

Before your birth, we will meet to discuss your health history to make sure it is safe for you to consume your placenta and to understand how you would like your placenta prepared: capsule, tincture, ointment, edible, etc. Shortly after your birth, I will meet you at your birth location to retrieve your placenta so that I can prepare it for you. When your placenta is ready, I will either drop it off to you or send it via overnight mail with detailed instructions for dosage and use.

*Please keep in mind, consuming placenta should not be used in place of medical help for issues such as severe hemorrhaging or postpartum depression.

Placenta preparation can include:

  • Placenta capsules (can be 100-200 capsules depending on size)

  • Placenta tincture

  • Ointment (can help with scars from belly births)

  • Placenta print (included)

  • Umbilical cord keepsake (included)

                                         Sounds awesome, I'm in!
